36 Days of Type
2018

Each year on Instagram, many designers, illustrators and visual artists take part in an annual event called 36 Days of Type, where they share their visual take on the 26 letters of the alphabet and numbers 0-9.

In 2018, 36 Days of Type started around the time I was in the final week of my 6 week solo trip around Japan in 2016 - a trip that had changed my life and that I had always wanted to commemorate visually somehow. So that year I created 36 Days of Japan, with each letter representing something that reminded me of a place, person or thing that I experienced on my travels.
